The primary role of remote sensing in land management and planning is to provide information concerning the physical characteristics of the land which influence the management of individual land parcels, assessment of the extent of land degradation, intensity of urban sprawl and the allocation of lands to various uses (LULC). These physical characteristics have typically been assessed through aerial photography, which is used to develop resource maps and to monitor changing environmental conditions over years. Many newly emerging uses of remote sensing involve optimum use of digital images obtained from satellites for various land resource related applications. Digital imagery offers the potential for computer-based automated map production..................

Fused deposition method (FDM) is of interest in material fabrication and productiondesign. With the introduction of 3-D printing, FDM has become increasingly prevalent as a tool and method due to its high efficiency and convenience in handling various geometries and material structure in production. This paper presents a study on the design/build parameters of 3D printing fused deposition to the mechanical properties of material. To gain insight into practical application, Taguchi experimental design methodology for a three-parameter (scan speed, layer height and print), three level (high, medium and low) study was used. The results showed a significant change in the mechanical properties resulting from the selection of various levels of these parameters, indicating that material properties such as strength may be manipulated with various level combination of the building parameters. Optimum levels of building parameters were further identified for achieving maximum mechanical strength of the material.

The electrical conduction in thick Polypropylene film with different crystallinities has been studied different temperatures & at different potential gradients. In different cases the charge storage properties of a super charged BOPP film &unoriented PP films have been studied. Now a specialstudy on TOPP is taken. An initial study has been made of radiation induced oxidation of Polypropylene (PP) in both its additive-free form and one containing discrete amounts of stabilizer. Samples of PP were irradiated in a 60Coγ source to various doses .The field dependence of current shows that the conduction mechanism in this polymer is ion hopping. In these films the thermally stimulated charge decay and open and short circuit thermal current were measured.

Abstract       pdf Full text PDF

A number of dinuclear Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II) complexes have been isolated by reacting bis (Salicylaldehyde) 1:2-propane diamine with metal salts and phenyl/p-tolyl mercury thiocyanate under varied reaction conditions. Structures of the complexes have been assigned on the basis of elemental analysis, molecular weights, molar conductances, magnetic moments, UV-visible, Infrared and electronic spectral studies. The physicochemical data suggest that bis (Salicylaldheyde) 1:2- propane diamine behave as dibasic tetradentate (ONNO) donor and the isolated complexes have distorted octahedral geometry. M| (salpn) i.e. N,N|-1,2-propane bis (salicylidineiminato) metal(II) coordinates to transition(1,2) and non transition(3,4) metal ion. Ni(salpn) has been used as ligand in the formation of trinuclear heterometal(5,6) complexes. Here we study on a new series of trimetallic complexes prepared from M(salpn) and (RHgSCN)2 M(NCS)2 [M=Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), M| = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), R=C6H5-, P-tolyl].

Contact Angle measurement is a classical method widely used in chemical engineering to derive the wettability in three-phase system (gas/liquid/solid, or liquid/liquid/solid). The method was introduced into petroleum engineering more than 50 year ago. This method is used to determine reservoir formation wettability. The imaging method is easily carried out in the laboratory and gives you a clear understanding of wetting mechanism in oil-water-rock system. Generally, sandstone formation and carbonate formation are represented by small polished quartz and carbonate blocks, respectively. A small drop (2-3mm) of water is laid on the smooth surface of rock which has previously been submerged in an oil-filled transparent cell. Then, the enlarged image of the water drop is obtained by photographing. The dimensions of the drop image are used to calculate the contact angle in the system.

Abstract       pdf Full text PDF
Index: 10.183x/J70116466 aned
Interfacial Tension is a property of the interface between two immiscible phases. When the phases are both liquid, it is termed interfacial tension; when one of the phases is air, it is termed surface tension. The surface tension and interfacial tension are important parameters which should be measured in the oil and gas industry. There are several methods available for the measurement of surface and interfacial tension, one such tensiometer is the du Noüy tensiometer. This method utilizes the interaction of a platinum ring with the surface of the liquid. The ring is submerged below the interface by moving the stage where liquid container is placed. After immersion, the stage is gradually decreased and the ring pulls up the meniscus of the liquid. Eventually the meniscus would tear from the ring. Prior to this event, the volume (and thus the force exerted) of the meniscus passes through the maximum value and begins to drop before the actual tearing event.

A Solution Procedure to Solve Multi objective Fractional Transportation Problem
Dr. Doke Dnyaneshwar Maruti
Abstract       pdf Full text PDF
Index: 10.183x/K70116772 aned
In decision making process if the objective function is ratio of two linear functions and objective function is to be optimized. For example one may be interested to know the ratio of total cost to total time required for transportation. This ratio is an objective function which is fractional objective function. When there are several such fractional objectives to be optimized simultaneously then the problem becomes multi objective fractional programming problem (MOFLPP). Initially Hungarian mathematician BelaMartos constructed such type of problem and named it as hyperbolic programming problem. Same problem in general referred as Linear Fractional Programming Problem. Fractional programming problem can be converted into linear programming problem (LPP) by using variable transformation given by Charnes and Cooper. Then it can be solved by Simplex Method for Linear Programming Problem................

Abstract       pdf Full text PDF
Index: 10.183x/L70117395 aned
Physical characteristic models are generally considered as the best way to evaluate reservoirs, whereas require some essential geological parameters involved in calculation. On purpose of promoting the efficiency of logging interpretation, a new combined method of N-way analysis of variance and multivariate linear fitting, thus, is proposed based on the statistical theories. The combined method has the capability of predicting porosity for the carbonate reservoirs without aiding any geological parameters. Additionally, according to the statistical results of multiple comparisons, the fitted values can be accurately corrected, further. The whole processing procedures are completed in only three steps. Using N-way analysis of variance to optimally select logging curves is the first step..............
